My name is Colleen Efstratiou. Many call me Mrs. E.  I am excited to be your 2nd grade Math and Science teacher! Last year I taught 4th Grade ELAR/SS. Prior to that, I taught 3rd Grade Math and Science at T.H. Rogers School for 17 years. I have been a 3rd-6th grade teacher in Arizona and Texas for 21 years, and I never stop learning and growing. I recently earned my Master's of Education in Social Emotional Learning.  I love to help students develop a growth mindset and empower them to become service-minded citizens.

My husband and I have a sixteen-year-old son, Eli, and a fourteen-year-old daughter, Lyla.  Eli will be in his Junior year at HISD's Energy Institute High School, and Lyla will be a Freshman at Westside High School.  We also have two dogs, Boo and Niko, who are both spoiled Rottweilers. 

I am so happy to be a member of the MYE Family. I am looking forward to meeting my new students and families! It's going to be a great year of growth for all of us!
