Mr. George Vasquez

My name is George Vasquez, and it is a pleasure to be your child's Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in the Listening and Spoken Language classroom.

Born and raised in Laredo, Tx., I grew up speaking English and Spanish. I earned my undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Texas A&M International University. Soon after, I moved to San Antonio, Tx and earned a Master's in Deaf Education and Hearing Science from the University of Texas Health Science Center.  Since 2020, I have worked for the FBISD Regional Day School Program for the Deaf as an itinerant (traveling) teacher, working with students from the 11 neighboring districts. In addition, I have focused on coaching parents with infants who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This year, I returned to the classroom setting.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my 10- year-old yorkie named Peanut and visiting my family in Laredo. In addition, I spend time enhancing my trumpet and guitar skills. On an occasional long weekend, you can find me at a West Coast Swing dance competition somewhere.

I look forward to working with you all this year.
