Equipping young people with the tools and training to think critically about the world around them and then communicate that understanding to others via multiple media platforms is crucial. My goal is to foster an environment of empowerment to build confidence in young people. I firmly believe the role of journalism courses at the middle school and high school level is an important means to developing future leaders. Journalism is fascinating and the bedrock of a free society.

My career in public relations spans more than 20 years in the Houston and Philadelphia areas. Serving multiple health care, education and service industry clients uniquely equips me to guide young people in understanding how news is made and covered in the media. I taught for three years at a local private school and am now enjoying my third year at Almeta Crawford High School.  

I grew up in the Houston area and lived in the Philadelphia area for ten years, which I still consider "home."  Snow is fabulous!  I have two kids, one is in college and one is a competitive Ninja Warrior and musician  We enjoy watching the Phillies and root for them unless they are playing the Astros, then we root for whoever is behind and celebrate the winner!  I enjoy taking pictures and reading historical fiction, fantasy and crime thrillers.
