  • GT Testing:  The tests administered for identification of gifted services measure students' abilities in comparison to others of their same age and/or grade level.  Abilities tests are designed to test potential and be independent of direct teaching of content.  The tests are nationally recognized in the educational community and have strong statistical merit.  As students cannot study to become gifted, we do not release the names of the tests we administer.  Fort Bend ISD does not evaluate students for gifted services prior to enrollment in Kindergarten.

Now Open!!  Referral for Gifted and Talented testing and identification for FBISD enrolled students - August 22, 2016 - September 30, 2016.  New Online Referral is open in Family Access!  To submit a referral, please login to your Family Access account and submit the referral form from custom forms.  More directions can be found on the parent referral sheet attached to this email.

Students who have not already been identified to receive GT services in all areas in grades Kindergarten through grade 11 may be submitted for testing.   Students identified as requiring gifted and talented services in FBISD during the 2016-2017 school year will begin receiving services at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year with the exception of Kindergarten services, which begin March 1, 2017.

  • Good afternoon Hightower Parents,

In order to prevent the disruption of the learning environment, we will only allow outside food from parents to be delivered prior to 10:30 a.m.  Any outside food items brought after this time will not be delivered.  Food that comes to the school from an outside vendor will not be delivered to our students.  For example, if Domino's pizza attempts to deliver a pizza to a student, it will not be delivered.

Students who leave campus for school approved internships may only bring food back to school for their own personal consumption.

Please be reminded that Hightower High School is not an open campus; students are NOT allowed to leave campus during lunch.

Parents who wish to eat in the cafeteria with their child are welcomed; we will provide you with a quiet area in the commons so that you and your child can have an enjoyable meal together.  Please understand that the food you bring cannot be shared with other students.

Please contact your student's principal if you have any concerns.  Thank you for your assistance.
