What is SEPAC?
The Special Education Parent Advisory Committee consists of a parent representative from each FBISD campus. The parent must be a parent of a child receiving special education services. FBISD has organized the SEPAC into two groups - parents of elementary (PPCD-5th) students and parents of secondary (6th-12th) students. The meetings occur each quarter.
What is the role of the SEPAC member?
SEPAC members are the special education “ambassador” for the campus. They are to serve in an advisory capacity to the district special education leadership team. They are asked to share information received at the SEPAC meetings with other parents of children receiving special education services at the campus. In addition, parents are encouraged to share information with their special education “ambassador” so the information can be brought forth to the district leadership team and shared at the SEPAC meetings.
