  • Semester Exams

Please see the semester exam schedule for this school year. Please note that exams will not be administered early for any reason. Students who miss an exam must make it up any day after school from Wednesday, January 4th through Friday, January 13th. We will also have opportunities for your child to make up his/her exams on Monday, January 2, 2017. We will start exams at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 1:00 PM. Please check in at the front office, and then report to the counseling suite. Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of your desired start time.

Important Note: On our early release days (December 15th and 16th), students will not be visiting their lockers. Therefore, no backpacks or string bags will be allowed at school on these early release days. Students may only bring

    • pencils
    • a book to read, and
    • a lunch from home (if not ordering a sack lunch from the cafeteria).
    • Girls may bring a small purse, if needed.

Students are also reminded to stay off of other FBISD property after we dismiss on early dismissal days. Elementary campuses will still be in session until their regular dismissal time. Be sure to also read the post on this page regarding digital devices and testing. Click here to read the letter that was emailed to parents on December 6th regarding end-of-semester items, including semester exam expectations.

  • Digital Devices and Testing Procedures/Expectations

Starting with the Fall Semester Exams, the procedure below will be followed with regard to digital devices on test days. It mirrors the procedure followed throughout the state of Texas for STAAR assessments. This procedure was approved by the Campus-Based Leadership Team. It will be shared with the students via morning announcements, as well as posted in classrooms. Teachers will go over the procedures with students in class.

    • Every test/major assessment will be administered by teachers like a STAAR or EOC exam
    • Cell phones, smart watches, and all other electronic devices – except as designated by the teacher – will be turned off and away from students’ desks
    • Students caught with unapproved devices in their possession at any time during a major assessment will have their device confiscated (delivered to Assistant Principal, subject to discipline) & their assessment will not be graded
    • Students using devices during major assessments will receive a “zero” on the assignment, their device will be confiscated, and they will be referred to administration
    • Calculators must be cleared before major assessments and verified by the teacher
    • Music players will not be worn by students during major assessments
    • These testing procedures will be communicated to students via morning announcements, to parents, posted on-line, posted in all classrooms, and reviewed in classes by all teachers before exams

Click here to view the PowerPoint slides shown to students during morning announcements and on our rotating video screens in the cafeteria and the front lobby.
