Please know that some grade level teachers are going that extra mile at Madden Elementary and are tutoring the same subject numerous days... so please be mindful of your specific teachers schedule! Due to the validity of keeping the groups small and purposeful, teachers cannot have all students in tutorials. Your teacher will be continuously watching his/her students for areas of growth. Thank you for working with your teachers and continuing to build a strong partnership. If you have any questions, please feel to discuss this in your parent conferences or email them directly.
Most Madden students tutorial schedule:
Arrival time/doors open at... 7:05; Tutorials are 7:15 to 7:50
Tuesday, October 18th through Tuesday, December 6th- Reading
Wednesday, October 19th through Wednesday, December 7th- Math
Thursday, October 20th through Thursday, December 8th- Writing (4th) and Science (5th)
There will be a second round of clubs coming home this week. Thank you to all the Madden teachers that have supported a variety of clubs and dedicating their additional time to these amazing clubs.
Please know that if your student did not get a permission slip home stating they had made a certain club... they are NOT in that club. All clubs have a limit and some are required to follow FBISD guidelines in how many students are allowed. Some clubs are just in the fall and some are in the spring. Students should only be eligible for 1 club with up to 3 choices but teacher discretion will be allowed. If you have any questions on a club... please email our assistant principal, Dr. Baum, at Lisa. Baum@fortbendisd.com
We have made an adjustment to Rainy Day Dismissal. We will call RAINY DAY DISMISSAL from now on after 3:10 PM. If you need reconfirmation of rainy day dismissal ... please call AFTER 3:10.
During rainy day dismissal, all walkers go in the car rider line. Thanks for putting safety first.
Thank you for partnering with us and being so understanding.
Please refrain from parking on the streets surrounding Madden. There are NO parking signs posted in these areas. FBISD police will be ticketing parked cars beginning the week of August 29.
All Grandparents are invited to attend lunch with their grandchild on Friday, September 9th during their grade level lunch time! The price for an adult lunch is $3.25.

Is your child exceptionally bright and do they seem far more advanced when you compare them to their peers? Consider referring your child for the Gifted and Talented Program. FBISD is accepting GT referrals from August 22– September 30. Forms will be available online and you may also request a form from our Madden front office.
Please attend the FBISD “Should I Refer” parent meeting on September 7th or September 16th from 6:30-7:30 at the FBISD Administration Building for more information about the program and the testing process.
All referrals are due back to the front office at Madden by 9/30/2016.

Morning Drop Off
For the safety of our students, please drop off all car riders in the front of the school between 7:30 and 8:00 am. By getting your child to school between 7:30 and 8:00, they have time to sit down in the classroom and prepare for their busy day ahead. Students are not allowed to be dropped off in the bus drop off area or near the playground. Dropping off students on Binion or Barzun Way is unsafe for you and your child and other drivers. Please reframe from parking on nearby streets. It increases traffic congestion. Please respect your neighbors and reframe from blocking their driveways and streets.
