On October 23, 2017 the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees approved the District Energy Plan setting into place the long range strategies for reducing energy use in the District. Key points in the plan are:

• The District will create a district-wide Energy Committee made up of teachers, staff, students, board members and community members.
• The District will create student-led sustainability teams.
• Room occupants should ensure lighting is off when room is unoccupied.
• District setpoints will be 69 degrees for heating and 74 degrees for cooling.
