Parent Online Learning Support

Mission Bend Elementary is offering live support sessions now through August 28th to equip you to support your student’s online learning experience. 

The live/synchronous sessions cover the following topics/areas of focus: 

Instructional Expectations Training 

  • Asynchronous learning (assigned work available through Schoology) 
  • Synchronous learning (live online sessions with the teacher) 
  • Formative assessments 
  • Grading 

Structuring for Success Training 

  • Creating a space for your student 
  • Scheduling your student’s day 
  • Technology needed 
  • Support resources 

 

Technology Tools Training 

  • FBISD 1Link (single sign-on to technology applications) 
  • Schoology (Basic and Intermediate training on our Learning Management System to help you navigate accessing and viewing lessons, and posting assignments, etc.) 
  • Microsoft Teams (video conferencing tool for live/synchronous sessions with teachers) 
  • Skyward (student information system for tracking attendance, discipline, grades, etc.) 

A self-paced/asynchronous parent online learning support module is in development in multiple languages and will be available in late August. It will be posted when available.
