Welcome to the first issue of In the Zone for the 2017-18 school year. In the Zone is a digital newsletter created to keep parents and community members informed about news and events within its 11 high school feeder patterns. Each month, this newsletter will feature stories, photos, videos and more from every school within a high school’s attendance area. The goal is to create unity among students and families from the elementary to high school level. You are receiving this newsletter from this feeder pattern based on your home address. You can sign up to receive news from campuses in other feeder patterns by signing up online.
The start of this school year was certainly unexpected and challenging. Just days after students returned to class, our community and much of southeast Texas was hit by Hurricane Harvey. But through the storm, our staff, students and community joined together to help those affected. In this first issue of In the Zone, you’ll find stories about how our FBISD family came together and brought the District’s Profile of a Graduate to life by volunteering their time and efforts to help those affected the most by the storm. You’ll also find other inspirational stories, accomplishments and events from our campuses during the first month of school.
Now that you’re In the Zone, be sure to stay connected with us in other ways, too! Please like our Facebook page, Fort Bend ISD, and follow us on Twitter, @FortBendISD. You can also subscribe to ExPress, the District’s electronic weekly news bulletin, under “Stay Connected” at www.fortbendisd.com/communicatons.
We look forward to bringing you many great stories this year!
