FBISD’s Small Business Enterprise Program selected as 2018 Supplier Diversity Champion Honoree (7/10/2018)
FORT BEND ISD (July 10, 2018) – Fort Bend ISD’s Small Business Enterprise Program (SBEP) has been selected as a Supplier Diversity Champion Honoree at the 2018 Top Contractors Awards presented by Subcontractors USA. This is the second time that the SBEP has received this honor. Since its inception in 2014, the SBEP has provided increased business opportunities for locally certified small businesses to participate in contracting and procurement at the District.
Small Business Enterprise Program Coordinator Jeanette Boleware accepted the award on behalf of the SBEP at the awards luncheon on June 20, 2018. Board Member Grayle James also joined Boleware at the awards luncheon, along with District staff and members of the 2014 Bond Program project team.

2016 Award of Merit (Devotion and Commitment to Minority Business Community) from the Greater Houston Business Procurement Forum Committee
The SBEP was adopted by the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees following voter approval of the $484 million bond program. The program, which is for construction projects that are $50,000 or greater, require prime contractors to use “Good faith efforts” to hire certified small businesses as subcontractors.
