Joel Johnson Receives District PAC Award for Leadership and Heart
FORT BEND ISD (April 30, 2026) – Fort Bend ISD Assistant Director of Multilingual Programs Joel Johnson received the April PAC Award for her service to students, staff, and families across the district.
District leaders, coworkers, and family members surprised Johnson under the guise that she was attending a meeting.
“Thank you so much,” Johnson said. “I thought we were coming to talk about curriculum. This is great!”
Several members of the Multilingual Department nominated Johnson, sharing that she leads with integrity and a commitment to excellence. She is a strong advocate for students and ensures they remain at the center of every decision.
For educators, she encourages growth, celebrates progress, and fosters a culture of support and continuous improvement. Now in her 12th year with FBISD, those who work alongside her say what sets Johnson apart is her heart.
One colleague said she is known for taking time to connect with students, learn their names, and ensure every child feels seen and supported.
Another colleague described her as a servant leader who “walks the talk,” follows through on every commitment, and inspires excellence in those around her.
Johnson consistently steps in where needed and embodies the values of FBISD through her commitment to lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
She is currently studying Mandarin to better support the district’s Mandarin Immersion Program.
