FORT BEND ISD (April 30, 2026) – More than 100 student-athletes representing all 12 Fort Bend ISD high schools signed letters of intent yesterday to colleges and universities where they will continue their academic and athletic careers following high school.

Special guest Hightower High School Alum and former NFL player Bralon Addison delivered a congratulatory message to students.

He also encouraged the athletes to prioritize their mental health because balancing school, practices, games and workouts can become overwhelming.

“Until I went through the process, I never understood the totality of what is expected of college athletes,” he said. “What we are asked to do is not normal, so please see a mental coach.”

And, Addison left athletes with the following quote.

“Just because you were, doesn’t mean you are,” Addison said. “And just because you weren’t, doesn’t mean you can’t be. Never stop working. Stay hungry. Stay humble.”
