FBISD announces 2026 Rookie Teachers of the Year
FORT BEND ISD (March 30, 2026) - Fort Bend ISD announced today its District Elementary and Secondary 2026 Rookie Teachers of the Year with surprise visits to their classrooms.
The FBISD Teacher of the Year Judging Committees reviewed all campus nominations and selected two educators who are already leading with excellence and making a meaningful impact in their classrooms.
Congratulations to the following teachers:
Elementary District Rookie of the Year
Ruby Mendez – Madden Elementary, English Language Arts teacher
Mendez engages students by meeting them where they are, integrating technology and dynamic learning experiences to keep them focused, motivated, and excited about learning.
Secondary District Rookie of the Year
Madison Baham – Crawford High School, Math teacher
A Fort Bend ISD graduate, Baham builds a strong classroom culture rooted in trust and meaningful relationships, creating an environment where students feel supported and empowered to succeed.
