FORT BEND ISD (February 26, 2026) — Fort Bend ISD received the Texas Thespians Premier Communities for Theatre Education Award, recognizing school districts that provide exemplary theater programs and strong student opportunities.

The designation honors districts that meet high standards aligned to the Educational Theatre Association’s Opportunity to Learn Standards, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Fine Arts, and active participation in the International Thespian Society.

To qualify, FBISD’s Fine Arts Department completed a comprehensive review process addressing curriculum, scheduling, class size, facilities, theater safety, technical equipment, production quality and overall program support. Submissions were verified and evaluated by theater education specialists across Texas.

Texas Thespians is the largest chapter of the Educational Theatre Association in the nation, serving more than 600 troupes and 16,000 middle and high school students statewide.
