FORT BEND ISD (February 20, 2026) - Ridge Point High School junior, Krathu Sankaranarayanan, received the highly competitive Bertie Green Junior Travel Scholarship. He is an officer for the Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, a national and international academic honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and/or Portuguese. 

Sankaranarayanan was selected from a national pool of applicants after being nominated by his school chapter Parra y Sosa, representing not only Ridge Point but the entire Fort Bend ISD community. In the past five years, only two students from the Houston area have qualified for this prestigious program.

This summer, he will embark on an all-expenses-paid journey to Ecuador, joining a cohort of student leaders to engage in volunteer work, cultural immersion and advanced Spanish language learning.
