FORT BEND ISD (Feb. 19, 2026) – Neill Elementary principal Margaret Murphy and Crockett Middle School principal Kyella Griffin are Fort Bend ISD’s 2026 Principals of the Year.

The two leaders were chosen by their peers for their strong school leadership and dedication to their students and staff.

FBISD Superintendent Dr. Marc Smith and members of the district’s executive leadership team surprised the principals at their respective campuses.

Margaret Murphy – Neill Elementary

Principal Margaret Murphy is a respected and collaborative leader who fosters a culture of excellence, equity, and growth while nurturing students and developing educators.

Kyella Griffin – Crockett Middle School 

Principal Kyella Griffin is a dedicated and authentic leader whose unwavering belief in student potential and strong support for colleagues distinguishes her leadership. Earlier this year, the district announced Griffin will be the first principal at Amy Coleman Middle School when it opens this fall.
