Sartartia Middle School Principal Receives October PAC Award

FORT BEND ISD (October 29, 2025) - Sartartia Middle School Principal Cholly Oglesby received the October PAC Award for her outstanding leadership.

Students, staff, district administrators and family gathered in the school gym and surprised her with the announcement.

“I was completely shocked and blown away,” Oglesby said. “I’m just so honored to be the principal here at Sartartia Middle School working with so many great teachers, and my students are fabulous.”

Sartartia Campus Assessment Coordinator Melissa Ford and teacher Angie Hazelwood nominated Oglesby because she “exemplifies the PAC by leading with compassion, integrity and a commitment to excellence.” They admire her ability to remain calm, organized, and student-focused, even during the most challenging times.

Last spring, Ford was diagnosed with breast cancer. Oglesby offered ongoing encouragement and support, all while uniting the entire school community in solidarity.

On the last day of school, they surprised me with a shirt that everybody was wearing that said Nobody Fights Alone at Sartartia,” Ford said. “She showed up real big during a hard time in my life.”

Through professionalism, accountability and clear communication, Hazelwood said Principal Oglesby has built a school culture where “everyone feels informed, heard, and valued in the decision-making process.”

I love working alongside Cholly,” she said. “She is an amazing principal.”
