Dulles High School Students Learn Sign Language During Deaf Awareness Week
Dulles High School students participated in Deaf Awareness Week by learning sign language from deaf and hard-of-hearing students and their peers in the school’s American Sign Language program.
The weeklong celebration promotes deaf culture and inclusion. Dulles is home to the Brazoria-Fort Bend Regional Day School Program for the Deaf, which serves students from 11 neighboring school districts.
Fort Bend ISD Deaf Education team lead Justin Kirk organized activities where students learned the ASL alphabet and colors and took part in interactive lessons to deepen their understanding of and connection to the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
