Fort Bend ISD (Aug. 7, 2025) – Fort Bend ISD has earned Exemplary Status in the Texas Educational Theatre Association’s (TxETA) 2025 Award of Distinction Program, the highest honor awarded to school districts for theatre education.

This prestigious recognition highlights the district’s ongoing commitment to high-quality theatre education and its contributions to promoting the performing arts in schools and the community.

This honor is a testament to the creativity, commitment and incredible work of our educators and students,” Superintendent Dr. Marc Smith said. “With the support of our dedicated Fine Arts Team, the district's programs continue to thrive and provide students with great opportunities.”

The TxETA Award of Distinction Program recognizes colleges, universities and school districts that demonstrate exceptionally high standards of theatre education through achievement, curation of resources, diversity, and advocacy for theatre arts.
