Fort Bend ISD named Best Community for Music Education for 19th consecutive year
Fort Bend ISD (May 14, 2025) — Fort Bend ISD has been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for the 19th year, recognizing the district’s outstanding commitment to providing music access and education for all students.
“Receiving the Best Communities for Music Education designation affirms the excellence of our District’s music education programs and the quality of our music teachers,” FBISD Director of Fine Arts James Drew said. “This designation also validates our Department’s vision to transform students’ lives through the pursuit of musical excellence.”
To qualify for the designation, FBISD answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, and support for the music program and community music-making programs. Responses were verified by school officials and reviewed by the leading arts educational research firm, Wolf Brown.
