Nearly 50 FBISD students qualify for AP Capstone™ awards

Fort Bend ISD (September 18, 2024) – Nearly 50 Fort Bend ISD students qualified for AP Capstone™ awards for their outstanding performance in the AP Capstone program during the 2023-24 school year.

Thirty-five students earned the AP Capstone Diploma™ by earning scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar, AP Research and on four additional AP™ Exams. Eleven students were awarded the AP Seminar and Research Certificate™ by earning scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research. The total number of FBISD students who qualified is 46. They attend Austin, Dulles, Elkins, Kempner, and Ridge Point high schools.

AP Seminar and AP Research assessments are unlike traditional AP subject exams with a single end-of-year test. Skills mastery is evaluated through group projects, presentations and individual essays completed throughout the year.

More than 100,000 students in 2,500+ schools worldwide participated in the program during the 2023-24 school year. Approximately 21,000 students earned the AP Capstone Diploma and 11,100 earned the AP Seminar and Research Certificate.
