Fort Bend ISD teams compete in Destination Imagination global competition

Fort Bend ISD (June 3, 2024) – Five Fort Bend ISD teams competed in the Destination Imagination Global Finals in Kansas City, Missouri in late May. 

Team Ocean, which consists of students from Sullivan Elementary and Colony Meadows Elementary, placed third in the elementary Fine Arts Challenge. Team members include Yasmeen Akhtar, Safia Gurji, Harshitha Kommuri and Nooriyah Rehman; team managers are Maliha Akhtar and Umme Aiman Gurji.
 
Seventh Place in the senior level Engineering Challenge was awarded to the raDIcals whose team members attend Clements, Dulles and Austin high schools. Members include Rishabh Aggarwal, Rithik Aggarwal, Saachi Jain, Anshul Jhaveri, Suhani Sawanr, Aaril Shah and Ronil Shah; the team is managed by Jigisha Doshi and Linda Christensen.
 
Sartartia Middle School’s Trailblazers placed ninth in the middle school Technical Challenge. Team members include Sahith Aaloori, Rishaan Chanana, Vivaan Joshi, Shanon Mathew, Nicole Pinto and Shivansh Shukla. Their team manager is Beena Hemkar.
 
Smart Sharks earned 11th place in the senior level Scientific Challenge. Team members include Rishi Eti, Viraj Gorijala, Vrishni Krishnan and Chinhitha Pamulapati; managers include Vedha Sampath and Venkata Ramanujam.

The SB Engineers team, which is made up of students from First Colony and Quail Valley middle schools, placed 16th in the middle school Service Learning Challenge. Team SB Engineers consists of Sebastien Dietlein, Reza Hanggoro, Henry Johnson and Julian Rau and is managed by Catalina Flores-Rau.
 
Global Finals is the culminating tournament for Destination Imagination’s Challenge Experience. DI teams that develop solutions to one of six competitive challenges and advance through regional and affiliate tournaments around the world are invited to attend and compete at the global competition.
