Three ensembles advance to bi-district round of 6A One Act Play competition

FORT BEND ISD (March 27, 2024) – Three Fort Bend ISD One Act Play ensembles – Bush, Hightower and Ridge Point high schools – will compete in the bi-district round of competition, after advancing from district competition.

The bi-district competition will be held March 28 at Katy Taylor High School (20700 Kingsland Blvd., Katy 77450) at 10 a.m.

The following schools advanced:

  • Bush High School, directed by Jason Barron and Javon Rougely – Things I Know to Be True
  • Hightower High School, directed by Tynesha Spikes and Sheri Shoemake – To Be Young Gifted and Black
  • Ridge Point High School, Alexandrea Novia and Blake Weir – The Ballad of Maria Marten

Travis High School was selected to be the alternate.

Individual awards from district competition include:

  • Best Performer – Camille Dickerson (Hightower High School) and Andie Jones (Ridge Point High School)
  • Best Crew – Hightower High School
  • Overall Outstanding Technician – Katie Bland (Ridge Point High School)
  • Honorable Mention All-Star Cast – Tyler Mok (Travis High School), Evelyn Hill (Travis High School), Henry Condell (Dulles High School), Na’Imah Cutts (Bush High School), Billy Fernandez (Clements High School), Zoe Jeter (Hightower High School), Jerome Johnson (Hightower High School) and Moises Ramos (Ridge Point High School)
  • All-Star Cast – Gracen Barrett (Travis High School), Divine Chinagozim (Dulles High School), Madison Hebert (Dulles High School), Israel Romero Wilson (Bush High School), Ifeoluwa Adesoye (Bush High School), Maddie Teverovsky (Clements High School), Andy Wu (Clements High School) and Erin Brogan (Ridge Point High School)
  • All-Star Technician Award – Orion Ajagunna (Travis High School), Nelly Awad (Dulles High School), Devin Amos (Bush High School), Christopher Pontiff (Clements High School), Ashton Harris (Hightower High School) and Patrick Cashion (Ridge Point High School
