Deputy Director of U.S. Small Business Administration’s Houston office to speak at FBISD’s January vendor workshop (1/23/2023)

FORT BEND ISD (Jan. 23, 2023) – Deputy Director of Houston’s U.S. Small Business Administration office Mark Winchester will be the guest speaker at Fort Bend ISD’s next vendor workshop scheduled for Thursday, January 26 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The event will be held at the FBISD Annex Building (3119 Sweetwater, Sugar Land, 77479). All companies and organizations interested in doing business with the district are welcome to attend.

Winchester has been with the Small Business Administration (SBA) for 11 years and supervises a 32-county area defined as  the Houston district, which last year  guaranteed  more than $1 billion in loans and surety for small businesses. In 2015, Winchester  received the Ike Award for Distinguished Federal Civilian Service, given to those who go above and beyond in the execution of their duties.

Prior to joining the SBA, Winchester served in several roles supporting women- and veteran-led businesses, as well as small businesses at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. While there, he was recognized several times for his work.

Winchester holds an AS, BBS and MBA from the University of Connecticut at Storrs, focusing on finance and information technology.
