Good Morning Parents and Guardians,

All Fort Bend ISD schools and facilities will dismiss early today, Monday, September 13, 2021, due to the threat of inclement weather in our community related to Tropical Storm Nicholas. Additionally, all classes are cancelled tomorrow, Tuesday, September 14.

We are taking this action out of an abundance of caution given the size of our District, the possibility of some portions experiencing flash flooding and hazardous road conditions, and the fact the District has a significant bus driver shortage necessitating early afternoon routes to transport students home before conditions worsen.

We wanted to make you aware of the early dismissal and cancellation as soon as possible so that parents can make decisions in the best interest of their families.

High School Early Dismissal will be at 11:35

Middle School Early Dismissal will be at 1:25

Elementary School Early Dismissal will be at 12:10

Bus routes will run normally this morning and will run an early dismissal schedule in the afternoon.

The District will serve lunches according to the adjusted dismissal schedule.

All afterschool activities at elementary, middle, and high schools are canceled today including UIL activities and extended learning.

Additionally, tonight’s FBISD Board of Trustees Agenda Review Meeting has also been cancelled.

The District will continue to monitor the weather and consult with local and state weather and emergency management officials. Any additional changes will continue to be communicated to parents and staff through our website, social media pages, direct parent/staff notifications, and local media.

A severe weather hotline will also be available at (281) 634-4636 to learn the latest information from the District regarding cancellations and schedule adjustments.

We appreciate your cooperation as we take measures to ensure the safety of our FBISD students and staff.
