Fort Bend ISD receives TAEA 2020 District of Distinction Award (9/15/2020)

FORT BEND ISD (September 15, 2020) – Fort Bend ISD has received the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) 2020 District of Distinction Award for providing a well-rounded education that advocates and integrates visual arts curriculum and creativity to all students. FBISD is one of only 42 districts in the state to receive this honor, representing only the top 4 percent. The District will be honored, along with the other awardees, at the annual TAEA Conference this fall, to be held virtually.

The District of Distinction Award recognizes districts that are leaders in promoting arts to students and in the community, and that actively participate in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE), Junior VASE, and TEAM competitions. Districts are also recognized for their field experience, community service and community exhibitions.

The TAEA is the leading advocacy organization for the visual arts in the state, and the largest state professional organization for art educators in the United States. Its mission is to promote quality visual arts education through leadership, advocacy, service and professional development. Visit taea.org to learn more.
