Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees action on transition to face to face learning plan postponed until Monday, September 14. Read full update from Dr. Dupre. (9/8/2020)
A message from Dr. Charles E. Dupre , Fort Bend ISD Superintendent of Schools.
I am writing to provide a brief update about our plans to begin the transition to face-to-face instruction. The Board of Trustees will not meet tomorrow as we previously shared. Instead, the Board will consider approval of the administration’s plans during their regular September Workshop and Agenda Review meeting on Monday, September 14.
Our proposed transition plan and recommended timeline has not changed, but we recognize that some parents need additional time to complete the Learning Model Selection process. As of today, approximately 28 percent of our parents had not yet responded, and we have decided to extend the deadline until 8 a.m. Thursday so that our parents will have more time to complete the process. This will allow us to present a more complete picture of parent selections during Monday’s Board Workshop. To support your decision-making, we have continued to update the online FAQ in response to questions that were submitted through the weekend. Again, you can learn more about the overall transition plan at FBISD Relaunch. You can also view video of the September 2 Board meeting to get a better understanding of our recommended transition plan and timeline.
We know that our parents and staff are anxiously awaiting more information about the transition to face-to-face instruction, and we will continue to keep you updated following next week’s Board meeting.
