Fort Bend ISD Reimagined: 2020-21 Planning Update #2 (6/18/2020)

As you are aware, earlier this week, Fort Bend ISD shared preliminary plans for instruction in the 2020-21 school year, a conceptual framework called 2020 Future Forward, which includes both face-to-face and online instructional delivery. At this time, Fort Bend ISD is carefully considering all operational and logistical details to support student instruction and ensure the safety and well-being of our FBISD families, and we will continue to keep our community updated as details are finalized. The TEA shared a brief update today confirming that there would be in-person instruction next fall, and announced that additional details and guidance would be forthcoming next week.  During the coming weeks, Fort Bend ISD will consider TEA guidance, along with local parent and staff survey data, to finalize and announce plans for the 2020-21 school year.

Watch Dr. Dupre in ABC 13 Virtual Town Hall

This evening, Fort Bend ISD Superintendent Dr. Charles Dupre will participate in a virtual town hall event hosted by ABC 13, exploring how districts are addressing the concerns of parents and educators amid the pandemic. The event begins at 7 p.m., and can be viewed on ABC 13’s website, www.abc13.com, and digital platforms.

Coming Soon: Fort Bend ISD Pre-registration

In the coming weeks, after the District has announced more detailed plans for the 2020-21 school year, we will ask families to pre-register. During pre-registration, families will indicate whether their students will be returning to face-to-face instruction in August, or if they plan to take advantage of a fully online model due to personal health and safety concerns. This pre-registration is important so that we can more effectively plan to support students, and again, we will continue to keep you updated every step of the way.

Please continue to monitor your email, and visit the Fort Bend ISD website and social media channels for additional updates.
