Dulles High School Air Force JROTC earns Distinguished Unit Award (5/6/2020)

FORT BEND ISD (May 6, 2020) - The Dulles High School Air Force JROTC unit, Unit TX-862, has received the 2019-2020 Air Force JROTC Distinguished Unit Award. It is one of 387 units from around the world to receive this honor. The award is given to JROTC programs that perform above and beyond the expectations and have demonstrated exemplary service to their school and community while meeting the Air Force citizen development mission.


The objectives of the Air Force JROTC program are to:


  • Educate and train high school cadets in citizenship and life skills;
  • Promote community service;
  • Instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline through character education; and
  • Provide instruction in air and space fundamentals.


Air Force JROTC programs are located in nearly 890 high schools across the United States, and around the globe, with a worldwide enrollment of more than 125,000 cadets. 


The DHS Air Force JROTC Unit is led by Major Doug Hawn and MSgt Patrick Hardy.
