Fort Bend ISD names its 2020 District Teacher of the Year Finalists! (2/5/2020)

FORT BEND ISD (February 5, 2020) – Fort Bend ISD is proud to announce the names of the finalists in the 2020 District Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year program. The FBISD Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year Judging Committees reviewed all campus entries and selected 12 finalists.


The 2020 District Elementary TOY Finalists:

  • Bonnie Gommel, Neill Elementary 
  • Manuel Lagos, Jones Elementary
  • Paige Parker, Ridgemont Early Literacy Center
  • Meagan Rebler, Walker Station Elementary
  • Nidhi Rehman, Quail Valley Elementary
  • Kelly Stavinoha, Madden Elementary

The 2020 District Secondary TOY Finalists:

  • Blair Bedner, Sugar Land Middle School
  • Emory Blackmon, First Colony Middle School
  • Geordie Daniel, Garcia Middle School
  • Lowell Edkins, Ridge Point High School
  • Janet Menzie, Clements High School
  • Jana Roberds, Thornton Middle School

The TOY finalists will be honored along with all Campus TOYS and District Rookies of the Year at FBISD’s annual Teacher of the Year Banquet on April 16, 2020.
