Bush High School student Daniel Achonye named a 2020 Posse Foundation Scholar (1/10/2020)
FORT BEND ISD (January 10, 2020) – Congratulations to Bush High School senior Daniel Achonye on being named a recipient of a full-tuition scholarship to Texas A&M University from the Posse Foundation. He was one of 60 scholars selected from 1,200 applicants.
Since 1989, the Posse Foundation has partnered with 58 colleges and universities in awarding $1.4 billion in scholarships to students in 10 cities across the United States – including Atlanta, the Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York and Washington, D.C.
Achonye has been president of his school’s Technology Student Association for the past two years, and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, and YES (Youth Expanding Service) Club. He is also a Youth In Philanthropy volunteer, a three-time Academic Excellence award winner, and a former Solutions Delivery Architect intern at Barich. While studying at Texas A&M, he plans to major in computer science and minor in business. His goal is to become a software developer for Google.
