FBISD’s Small Business Enterprise Program honored by the Greater Houston Procurement Business Forum

FORT BEND ISD (January 8, 2020) – Each year, the Greater Houston Procurement Business Forum Committee honors programs for making a positive difference in the minority and small business community. We are proud to announce that the District’s Small Business Enterprise Program has been honored with two of the Forum’s awards – the 2019 Bronze Sponsor of the Year and the 2019 Strategic Partner of the Year awards.

Since its inception in 2014, the SBEP has supported nearly 2,500 registered small businesses in securing opportunities to bid on construction, architectural and engineering service projects with Fort Bend ISD amounting in contracts valued at $50,000 or greater.

The success of the program has led to several awards and honors, including the Supplier Diversity Champion Award by Subcontractor USA (2018 and 2016); 2018 Strategic Partner of the Year by the Greater Houston Business Procurement Forum Committee; 2017 R.A. Wiltz Minority Business Advocate of the Year; and the 2016 Award of Merit (Devotion and Commitment to Minority Business Community by the Greater Houston Business Procurement Forum Committee.
