Fort Bend ISD earns a Superior rating in yearly FIRST accountability ratings (9/5/2019)

FORT BEND ISD (September 5, 2019) – Fort Bend ISD earned a Superior rating, an A, in the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) for the 2018-19 school year. This is the District’s 16th Superior rating.

The score is based on the state’s annual analysis of FBISD’s financial management, focused on the District’s solvency, financial competency and a critical review of fiscal commitments. TEA assigns four ratings under its system – Superior (A), Above Standard Achievement (B), Meets Standard (C) and Substandard Achievement (F) – to districts and schools in its yearly review.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is the state entity that oversees primary and secondary public education in the state, including school financial resource management. The agency annually reviews financial records of nearly 1,200 school districts and charter school systems from across the state. Visit TEA’s FIRST webpage for more information.
