OptumRX and UnitedHealthcare donate school supplies to FBISD’s Shared Dreams Program (8/15/2019)
FORT BEND ISD (August 15, 2019) – Students in Fort Bend ISD will benefit from a generous donation from OptumRX and UnitedHealthcare. Representatives of the organizations presented FBISD with donations of school supplies to benefit the District’s Shared Dreams Program, which distributes clothing, toiletries and supplies to students in need of assistance.
Employees of both organizations conducted a joint school supply drive, collecting boxes full of backpacks, notebooks, folders, crayons, markers, pencil cases, and more! The organizations also received donations during a social event they held for employees. The employees were treated to a free Sugar Land Skeeters game and asked to bring school supply donations to support the drive.
“Fort Bend ISD is very appreciative of the partnership and donation that OptumRX and UnitedHealthcare provided to Shared Dreams to support students and families that have hardships. The donations of school supplies will help ensure that this is a successful year for students and is one less thing for them to worry about so they can stay focused on academic and extracurricular success,” said Dr. Anthony Indelicato, Chief of Staff and Collaborative Communities.
