Fort Bend ISD announces 2019 Summer School program registration and session dates (4/11/2019)

Online registration begins April 22 at noon; All FBISD summer school programs will be closed July 1-5

 

FORT BEND ISD (April 11, 2019) – Fort Bend ISD will offer various summer school programs in 2019 to meet students’ academic needs at the high school, middle school, and elementary school levels. Programs are available for all FBISD students, as well as out-of-district students.

 

Registration for FBISD students interested in attending summer school courses begins April 22 at noon (12 p.m.) and closes June 4 at midnight. Out-of-district students will register for courses on June 4.

 

High School Summer Programs

Two High School General Summer School sessions will be offered at Dulles High School (550 Dulles Ave. Sugar Land, 77478). 

 

High School Session I: June 10-June 27

High School Session II: July 8-July 25

 

High school students attending the Original Credit and Remedial Credit programs will attend classes Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 pm.  (Transportation will be provided to FBISD summer school students.)

 

High school students attending the AP/Pre-AP summer school program will attend Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Transportation will not be provided to students attending AP/Pre-AP courses.) Learn more about the AP/Pre-AP summer school programs and course offerings.

 

High School Online Registration Dates

(All summer school registration will occur online.)

Original Credit, Remedial Credit, AP and Pre-AP: April 22 (beginning at noon) through June 4

Parents who need assistance with online registration, as well as those making payments by cash, should visit their child’s school counselor to complete the registration process.

 

Middle School Summer Program

Middle School Accelerated Instruction and Remedial Credit programs will be offered at Austin High School (3434 Pheasant Creek Dr., Sugar Land, 77498). The programs will be held for one session only.

 

Middle School Session dates: June 10-June 27

 

Middle school students will attend Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Transportation will be provided for FBISD summer school students.)

 

The remedial credit course offerings are available to students who did not successfully complete courses previously taken in grades 6, 7 or 8 during the 2018-19 school year that are needed to be promoted to the next grade level.

 

Middle School Online Registration

(All registration will occur online.)

Accelerated Instruction and Remedial Credit: April 22 (beginning at noon) through June 4

Elementary SSI 5th Grade Summer School Programs

Elementary Accelerated Instructional (SSI) programs will be offered at two FBISD campuses – Armstrong Elementary and Hodges Bend Middle School. The SSI 5th grade program is open to all 5th grade students who failed the reading and math components of STAAR after the second administration. Campuses will be divided between the east and west sides of the District. These programs are offered to students at no charge.

 

Elementary Session dates: June 10-June 27

 

Students will attend classes Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Transportation is provided to FBISD summer school students.)

 

Locations: Armstrong Elementary (3440 Independence Blvd., Missouri City, 77459) and Hodges Bend Middle School (16510 Bissonnet, Houston, 77083)

 

Armstrong Elementary will host the following FBISD elementary campuses – Armstrong, Austin Parkway, Blue Ridge, Briargate, Burton, Colony Bend, Colony Meadows, Commonwealth, Dulles, Glover, Goodman, Heritage Rose, Highlands, Hunters Glen, Jones, Lantern Lane, Leonetti, Lexington Creek, Palmer, Parks, Quail Valley, Ridgegate, Ridgemont, Scanlan Oaks, Schiff, Settlers Way, Sienna Crossing and Sullivan.

 

Hodges Bend Middle School will host these FBISD elementary campuses – Barrington Place, Brazos Bend, Cornerstone, Drabek, Fleming, Holley, Jordan, Lakeview, Madden, Meadows, Mission Bend, Mission Glen, Mission West, Neill, Oakland, Oyster Creek, Patterson, Pecan Grove, Seguin, Sugar Mill, Townewest and Walker Station.

Transportation pick-up will be available from clustered elementary sites. Transportation information for eligible students will be shared at a later date on the Summer School webpage.
