Fort Bend ISD students advance to state geography competition (3/7/2019)

FORT BEND ISD (March 7, 2019) – Four Fort Bend ISD students will compete in the 2019 National Geographic GeoBee Texas State Competition, to be held March 29, 2019 at the Pat May Center in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. The students are Aryan Bora (Sartartia Middle School), Ettan Jain (Cornerstone Elementary), Justin Li (Fort Settlement Middle School), and Mhyank Sekhar (Quail Valley Middle School).


The students are among more than 100 students from across the state who will be competing to be named state champion. The winner will advance to the national competition, where the national champion will receive a $25,000 college scholarship, a lifetime membership in the National Geographic Society, a cash prize, and trip to the Galapagos Islands.


The National Geographic GeoBee Championship will be held May 19-22 at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C.
