FBISD partners with local businesses/organizations in creating disaster relief donation and distribution sites (9/1/17)
FORT BEND ISD (September 1, 2017) – To further assist families who are recovering from the effects of Hurricane Harvey, Fort Bend ISD has partnered with area businesses and faith-based organizations to establish drop off/distribution locations where community members may bring donations and families affected by the storm may receive items they need.
Donations for classrooms affected
In addition, the Fort Bend Education Foundation is raising funds for Emergency Grants to outfit classrooms/campuses in Fort Bend ISD that were affected by Hurricane Harvey! Visit the Fort Bend Education Foundation website to make a donation for these grants.
Donations and relief for families
You can support families by donating any of the following items:
- Linen/Bedding – new linen (including pillows, pillow cases, blankets, sheets, comforters and towels), air mattresses and cots
- Toiletries – deodorant, tooth paste and tooth brushes, mouthwash, lotion, lip balm, shaving cream, disposable razors, feminine products, baby wipes, hand sanitizer (travel size), hair combs/brushes, ponytail holders/clips, baby diapers
- Miscellaneous – Flash lights, batteries, battery-operated lanterns, clothes pins, clotheslines, air freshener, insect repellant spray, school supplies
- School uniforms – polo shirts (multiple colors), khaki/navy bottoms (including pants, jumpers, walking shorts, skirts and skorts), belts and solid-colored sweaters, jackets and coats for elementary and middle school students (See full list of FBISD school uniforms for more details.)
- School clothing – for students of all ages, sizes and grade levels (PreK-12)
- Non-perishable food items – including bottled water, canned/powdered milk, canned orange juice, baby food, instant rice, fruit (apples/bananas/oranges)
Community members may drop off donations, and families may receive donated items, at the following FBISD community-supported donation/distribution sites (**with some exceptions) below.

September 5 – September 8 from 2-5 p.m. each day
(Out-of-town donations may be shipped/mailed to the Shared Dreams location.)
**Shared Dreams is only accepting school supplies, new and gently-used school clothing and uniforms, as well as new underwear, socks and shoes. To receive these items, families with registered FBISD students are required to contact their school nurse for assistance.
Word of Restoration International Church
