Fort Bend ISD approves construction contracts for two additional schools
District’s 15th middle school and 48th elementary school to be built in Sienna Plantation
Middle School 15, part of the 2007 Bond Program, will be 228,566 square feet and will cost $47,550.000. Construction of the school is planned to begin within the next few months, and the District plans to open the school for the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
The schools share a 47-acre site. During the June 6 board meeting, the FBISD administration announced Sienna developers recently agreed to construct traffic improvements in the area of Waters Lake Boulevard and Sienna Parkway.
“The safety of our students, staff members and families is always the District’s primary concern, and we appreciate Sienna’s partnership in addressing concerns brought up in the planning process,” said Dr. Charles Dupre, the FBISD Superintendent of Schools.
“By agreeing to expedite the construction of millions of dollars in road improvements and improving accessibility in the area, the developers are demonstrating they share a commitment to our community. We are looking forward to the completion of these two schools, fulfilling promises made to our taxpayers.”
“The new elementary school and middle school are welcome additions to the six Fort Bend schools currently serving our community. With these additional schools, FBISD is making great strides improving the education experience within Sienna Plantation.” said Alvin San Miguel, general manager of the Sienna Plantation community.
