Dear Future Longhorns & Parents,
       Baines Middle School is so excited about having you join “The Ranch”! Our new student orientation, Longhorn Roundup, is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29 and your child is encouraged to attend this event! There is no registration or fee involved.

6th graders with the last names starting with A-L are asked to be in attendance from 9-11:30 am, and 6th graders with the last names starting with M-Z are asked to attend from 1:30-4pm. Please note, this is not a come and go event.

Parents are also invited to attend an optional meeting with the administrators and counselors while your child works with student leaders to learn more about Baines Middle School.

Students and parents should enter through the front doors near the flagpole upon arrival. After checking in, students will be directed to one location and parents to another.

If your student is new to Baines, but not in 6th grade, they are welcome to attend either session. Again, no registration is required.

Additional information for 6th Grade Special Education Families:
Dear families,
     In addition to the Longhorn Roundup orientation event on July 29, you are invited to “Cookies with Case Managers” in the Baines Middle School library.  This is a come and go event from 11:40-1:15pm for our Special Education families to meet the case managers who will be working with your children and receive a personal tour. There is no formal presentation. If your child is scheduled to attend the afternoon session for Longhorn Roundup, you are more than welcome to come closer to 12:15 pm. This session is only for families of 6th graders who receive Special Education services.

Supplies
This year, Baines teachers will have a community stash of tissue boxes, hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes. We invite you all to bring at least one of these items to Longhorn Roundup to help get this started. We will have drop off areas at the school entrance. I know our staff will appreciate your contributions. A more comprehensive list of needed student supplies will be sent out at a later date.
