Fort Bend ISD is required to administer the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test in person, on campus for all students in eligible grades, including those students receiving online instruction during Term 4. As a result, MCMS will be using five waiver dates to allow for STAAR testing while maintaining our FBISD safety protocols. These waiver dates will allow for students who are not taking the STAAR test to work from home asynchronously. These will vary depending on the specific test administration so please review all of the information below.
Online students who are coming on campus to take STAAR must follow all FBISD Wellness and Safety Protocols.
Students must complete the Wellness Survey in Skyward Family Access and present it upon arrival to school.
Students must arrive on campus by 8:50 AM
Students must wear a mask at all times. (except while eating lunch)
As students finish testing, they will be allowed to call home to be picked up by a parent/guardian.
Reminder: Transportation will not be provided for OL students coming to campus to test.
Students in grades 3-8 who do not complete STAAR assessments will not be held back due to incomplete STAAR assessments this year; however, high school students or 8th grade Algebra I who do not participate in required STAAR assessments will be impacted. Under current law, high school students are required to perform successfully on End of Course assessments (EOCs) to meet graduation requirements. In addition, it is beneficial for the student to participate in EOCs at the end of the year in which the course is taught to ensure the greatest degree of content retention and application.
