Join us At Thunder Camp!

Thunder Camp 2021

All new Thornton Middle School students are invited to join us at Thunder Camp, which is an opportunity for students to become familiar with the campus.  Students will engage in team building, a campus tour, and a Q & A session about middle school. 

 

Dates/Times:

6th graders with last names A-L: Thursday, July 29, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

6th graders with last names M-Z: Thursday, July 29, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

7th graders new to Thornton or online in the 2020-21 school year: Friday, July 30, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

8th graders new to Thornton or online in the 2020-21 school year: Friday, July 30, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

 

Where should I drop off and pick up my student? 
Students should be dropped off and picked up at the athletic entrance that is located in the parking lot that RTMS shares with Leonetti Elementary.  Students will sign in and report to the practice gym.

 

How to do I register for Thunder Camp?
Students don't need to register. Just check in at the gyms. 

 

Do parents attend Thunder Camp?
There is an optional meet & greet with RTMS administrators & counselors the first 20-30 minutes of each session in the performance gym. Q & A style. Parents can also purchase RTMS spirit wear from PTO, PE uniforms or yearbooks at a discounted Thunder Camp rate of $45. 

 

What does Thunder Camp look like for my student?
Thunder Camp is an opportunity for students to become familiar with the campus.  Students will engage in team building, a campus tour, and a Q & A session about middle school.

 

What should my student wear to Thunder Camp? 
Students should dress in comfortable school appropriate clothing and shoes. 

 

How do we purchase PE uniforms?

Will students receive lockers at Thunder Camp? 
No. Locker information will be distributed once school starts.

 

Will students take their school ID picture or school pictures during thunder camp? 
No. ID pictures will be taken once school has started. School yearbook photos will be taken during school hours on Thursday, September 2. 

 

What if my student is unable to attend Thunder Camp? 
Do not worry.  All information shared at Thunder Camp will be re-visited the first day of school.
