Fort Bend ISD students advance to state science fair (3/7/2019)
FORT BEND ISD (March 7, 2019) – More than a dozen Fort Bend ISD students now advance to the Texas Science and Engineering Fair, after competing at the regional fair earlier this month at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Students participated in the Science Engineering Fair of Houston, hosted by the University of Houston, among students from nearly two dozen counties. There were more than 700 projects submitted, from more than 1000 students from the greater Houston area.

The middle and high school students will compete against winners from across the state, where winning high school entries will advance to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), and have the opportunity to participate in the Governor’s Science and Technology Champions Academy.
The Governor’s Science and Technology Champions Academy, hosted by Texas Workforce Commission, is a week-long science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) hands-on residential summer camp that exposes students to career options in various science fields.
The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair is a program of the Society for Science & the Public, and the world’s largest international pre-collegiate science competition. Annually, nearly 1,800 high school students from more than 75 countries, regions, and territories showcase their research. This year’s ISEF competition will be in Phoenix, Arizona, from May 12-17, 2019.
