I graduated from LeTourneau University with a B.S. in Business Administration. Prior to entering the education field nine years ago, I worked as a paralegal for over fifteen years in the area of personal injury civil litigation. This year will be my fifth year to teach sixth grade ELA and second year as the ELA department head.
I have been married for over twenty years and have four children; one daughter and three sons. I have two grown children: a daughter who graduated from Texas Tech University (Guns Up!) and a son who graduated from U of H (Go Coogs!). I also have two boys at home; one is a junior and the other is a freshman at Strake Jesuit. I stay very busy on the weekends. You can usually find me on the soccer or baseball field watching my boys play!
I have a passion for reading and one of my goals every year is to ignite that same passion in my students. I am an ABYDOS trained teacher and look forward to teaching my students strong reading and writing strategies. I will challenge them to meet their highest potential and create a classroom environment that encourages students to work collaboratively with their peers.
Even though this school year will look very differernt, I can't wait to meet my students! I feel privlideged to have the opportunity to get to know and teach your child. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at anytime.
