Welcome to 4th grade Sienna Crossing Navigators!  My name is Nancy Ferrara, and I am a proud member of the 4th grade team.  I have been teaching for 17 years.  I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Elementary Education.  A year later, I completed a Master’s degree specializing in Educational Technology.  After that, I went on to teach 4th grade in the state of Florida for 5 years.  During this time, I also attended Florida Atlantic University, and in 2006 I graduated with a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. 

During the next phase of my life, I took a break in my teaching career.  I became the mother of a beautiful girl named Ava in 2006, and shortly thereafter our family relocated from Fort Lauderdale to Houston.  Two and half years later, my husband and I welcomed our son, Alex, into the world.  Ava is now a sophomore and a Varsity Ridge Point Royal.  Alex is entering 8th grade and participates in football, theater, and choir. 

When my children began pre-school,  I enjoyed four beautiful years as a pre-school teacher at a local church-based program.  As my own children grew older, I was ready to go back to work full-time at our home school district, FBISD. I am a highly qualified teacher, and this is my eighth year teaching in our community of Sienna. I was honored to be named Sienna Crossing's Teacher of the Year during the 2021-2022 school year.       

Movement has also always been a big part of my life.  In the evenings, I teach dance and love to run.  I'm often out and about in the neighborhood with my kids, husband, mom, or dogs. I look forward to getting to know your families this year and building strong relationships together to support our kids.
