I am honored to teach your child this year in the SAILS class! I look forward to building a strong foundation with you to empower your child to do their very best. Each child learns in a different way, and my lessons reflect individualized instruction specific to your child. Specially designed instruction is utilized in my classroom daily. Modifications and/or accommodations are made thru individual and group activities to ensure engaged learning!
My mission is to create an invironment conducive for diverse learners to eliminate barriers and provide our students with ample opportunities to develop skills for life.
This is my 9th year in education, all of which being in the special education field. I was born and raised in Owensboro, Kentucky. I graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelors degree in LBD (Learning Behavior Disorders) and Elementary Education, with an additional certification in MSD (Moderate to Severe Disabilities). Additionally, I have my Master of Arts Degree in Teacher Leadership from Georgetown College.
I am passionate about my students. I enjoy greeting those sweet faces at my classroom door each and every morning! My classroom environment is warm and inviting, yet highly-structured. Students are aware of the expectations at each moment throughout the day. This makes for smooth transitions both in and out of the classroom.
Communication is key! Please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns. It is imperative that we work together seamlessly for your child to succeed.
