WELCOME...I'm so glad you're here!  I will be your 5th grade Reading, Writing, and Social Studies teacher this year.  Here is a little information about me.

I’ve known I wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember.  I often reminisce on the times when I would line my dolls up in my room or recruit family and friends to “play school!”  My passion for teaching motivated me to attend Sam Houston State University where I earned my teaching degree in 2010.  Shortly after graduating, I began my teaching career in Fort Bend ISD at Cornerstone Elementary (kindergarten).  The following year, I moved to Oakland Elementary, where I taught 2^nd grade for 6 years.  I had the privilege of opening Neill Elementary as team leader in 2017, where I taught second graders for 4 years.  Last year, I joined the exceptional MYE 5th grade team, and this year I will also serve as the grade level team leader. 

I live in Richmond, Texas with my husband, Kenyatta.  In my spare time I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends, crafting, and getting lost in a good book!

I am so excited about entering into my second year at MYE.  I also look forward to helping my students develop a passion for learning and watching their growth as they discover new things!  GO LEOPARDS!
