Hello! My name is Gabriela Cook. I currently teach fifth grade reading, language arts and social studies at Barrington Place Elementary.
I grew up in Missouri City, Texas where I attended Burton Elementary, Lantern Lane Elementary, Quail Valley Middle School, and graduated from Elkins High School. I enjoyed playing softball and basketball as a kid. I also loved being a drummer in my high school marching band and still have a strong passion and appreciation for music.
In December of 2014, I graduated from the University of Houston where I was a student teacher in FBISD. I was a long term substitute teacher at BPE in the spring of 2015. I was blessed with the opportunity to be a first year teacher here at BPE in August of 2015 – which was an adventure I have waited my whole life for!
It is my goal to inspire students to believe and see all they are able to achieve. I am passionate about helping students grow in their independence, problem solving, responsibility, and confidence as they inch closer and closer to middle school. Fifth grade is a year filled with academic, emotional, and social growth that will prepare students for futures beyond what they can imagine, and I am so thankful to be a part of each student’s journey.
