I started my teaching career in Spring Branch ISD as a P.E. teacher. After teaching P.E. for 5 years I decided to transition to the regular education classroom and began teaching third grade ELA & Social Studies at Barrington Place Elementary!! I went on to do this for 3 years before making the move the first grade. This will be my sixth year at BPE and my third year teaching first grade.
I have a 2 year old daughter named Presley and am expecting our second child, Jason in August! My family also includes my husband and our 5 dogs! My family is my whole world! In my spare time I love to fish, be crafty, collect all things Star Wars, and travel (We love Disney World!). I love sports and love to watch and root for all of our Houston teams: Astros, Texans, and Rockets. I am also a very big fan of Elvis!
I graduated from Houston Baptist University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Sciene in Kinesiology and Education. In May 2018, I completed and earned my Master's Degree in Education with a specialization to be a Reading Specialist from Stephen F. Austin State University. I hope to become a Reading Specialist one day, so that I can support all students in their reading journey! I love reading and learning, and I love to teach children how to become better readers! I hope to instill the same passion that I have for reading and learning into each and everyone of my students. I set high standards for all of my students and I know that they can achieve their goals if they set their minds to it!
