Hi! My name is Catherine Coppedge, and I am so excited to teach science lab at Anne Sullivan Elementary. I have been teaching for 24 years, 18 of these in Fort Bend ISD. This past summer, I completed my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Science emphasis. I love learning and sparking that same drive in my students.
I have one daughter, Sarah, who works at Texas A&M University in the English department. WHOOP!!! When we are together, we love to travel, go to Bolivar, watch movies, and spend time with family. Most Saturdays, I am either cycling or hiking. I cycle with Team in Training, an organization that raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. When I have free time, I love to read and play with my cats, Hawkeye and Radar.
Science Lab is part of the outclass rotation. We will be using hands-on investigations to inspire the “scientist” within all of our students! Science investigations provide opportunities for students to develop the understandings and skills necessary to function productively as problem-solvers in a scientific and technological world. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to discover with your children the wonders of how our world works.
